Participant Eligibility
During the application process, households will need to provide several pieces of information.
Additionally, incentive amounts for Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates are tied to a household’s income level. Interested participants should start organizing this information as soon as possible.
Wages Earned/Tax Documents
Please be ready to provide documents for all sources of income from the previous year.
- Pay Stubs: documentation outlining your pay, within the past 60 days.
- W-2: documentation for seasonal or salaried employees to demonstrate income from the previous calendar year.
- Federal tax return: Provides an overview of your income from the past year. Please redact (remove, black out, etc.) your social security number as it is not needed for this program. A 1040 will also work as an acceptable form of documentation.
- Self-employment income: If you are self-employed, please provide tax documentation from the past year.
- Proof of unemployment, through an income statement or benefit letter.
Submitting this information when prompted will help you move through the review process.

Georgia will also consider categorical eligibility during the income verification process. If at least one member of your household participates in one of the programs listed below, you can use a benefit letter to qualify.
