Scammers are misrepresenting their involvement with our program.  A scammer may call, text, email, or knock at your door to convince you they are someone associated with GEFA or Georgia's Home Energy Rebates. Review these steps to avoid a scam and/or report a scam.

  • Avoid a Scam - Be Cautious of Unsolicited Calls and Texts

    Do not answer phone calls, texts, social media messages, or email from numbers or people you do not know.

  • Avoid a Scam - Do Not Share Personal Information

    Do not share personal information like your bank account number, Social Security number, or date of birth.

  • Avoid a Scam - Confirm the Contractor is Network-Approved

    Make sure the contractor you are working with is approved by Georgia's Home Energy Rebates.  If the contractor you are working with is not listed on the program website, please call our Contact Center to confirm their participation. Do not allow a contractor start work before you have confirmed they are program-approved.
