HEAR Program Updates
HEAR Project Submissions are Paused
The review team for Georgia's Home Energy Rebates is diligently working through a high volume of HEAR applications, and a pause is now in place for new HEAR application submissions.
Effective 1:00 PM EST on August 14, 2026, Georgia’s Home Energy Rebates is no longer accepting Single-Family and Multifamily applications for the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) program. Applications submitted before this deadline will be reviewed. Applications that meet program and eligibility requirements may be processed for a rebate, subject to available funding.
The program will continue to accept applications for the Home Efficiency Rebates (HER) program. Interested applicants are encouraged to review those program details to explore their options.
Fuel Switching HEAR Projects: Georgia's Submission Deadline Expired
On May 29, 2026, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued updated program guidance for the Home Energy Rebates initiative, which includes changes that impact Georgia’s program implementation.
DOE’s updated guidance (see Program Notice 26-2) must be implemented by August 31, 2026.
To meet this requirement, fuel switching HEAR projects are no longer accepted as of August 10, 2026.
